About the Group
Armed only with their dreams and the mission to help the needy and less-fortunate children of Angola, Ambassador Flavio Fonseca and Dr. Pedro Ambrosio Dos Reis Fançony tried to get hold of the first three Filipino teachers to teach the very first string group specifically in samba Luanda city, Angola, and that is how the Kaposoka Escola de Musica started.
Kaposoka’s primary goal is to deliver these kids for their brighter future especially in music and arts. And to be able to obtain these dreams, these children are studying not only to play music but they are also learning proper conduct on stage and at their own homes, since discipline is one of the best factor to obtain a higher degree as a human being and as a musician as well
In Kaposoka, we are aiming now to make this project bigger so that we can build our own Conservatory of Music here in Luanda so we could help more children and talented musicians to pursue a college degree in music and arts.
As of now, since there are students that are advancing, we have plans to teach them pedagogy, in other word this is what we are calling the transfer of knowledge, so they can help also not only their selves but teach their colleagues as well, and at the same time this plan will protect the project itself specially we have plans to continually expand this project in other provinces in Angola.
In order to meet the individual needs of children we are accepting some concerts so we can get some funding to help our school continue.
Dr. Fançony also hopes that if we could teach more and more children in the future the crime rate will go down especially here in Luanda, because in Kaposoka we also believe that education is still the best weapon to fight crime and poverty.
